Next-Gen MacBook Air Lineup:

Apple Plans to Use Intel's Kaby Lake Refresh Processors on Next-Gen MacBook Air Lineup: Report

While Apple has so far maintained silence on upgrading its MacBook Air family, a fresh report reveals that the Cupertino company is preferring an eighth-generation aka Intel Core processor aka Kaby Lake Refresh for the next-generation MacBook Air. The company is reportedly not waiting for Intel's Cannon Lake chips that are expected to debut in late 2019 with a 10nm design, and opting for the traditional 14nm chips instead. Notably, the existing MacBook Air models that were launched in 2015 come with fifth-generation, dual-core Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Originally, Apple was expected to launch the new MacBook Air lineup at WWDC 2018 this year. The company, however, was later found to have delayed the upgrade and set to bring the new experience sometime in the second half of the year.

According to a report by Economic Daily News, Apple's new MacBook Air models will include the Kaby Lake Refresh processors that were released in the second half of last year. The eighth-generation chips come in quad-core Core i5 and Core i7 variants that are clocked between 1.6GHz and 1.9GHz with Turbo Boost speeds between 3.4GHz and 4.2GHz. This is significantly higher than the fifth-generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors that are powering the current MacBook Air models with dual-core processing
It is also reported that Apple is not in plans to wait for the Cannon Lake processors that are expected to arrive sometime by the end of 2019, based on the 10nm process. If we believe a previous report, Apple will launch the new MacBook Air models with a starting price of $899 (roughly Rs. 61,700) or even as low as $799 (roughly Rs. 54,800). It is unclear that when we'll see the new models. Nevertheless, considering the latest report, Apple may launch the Kaby Lake Refresh-powered MacBook Air lineup sometime later this year.

NEW LAUNCH GALAXY NOTE 9

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Will Launch at a 'Reasonable Price', Says Company

The Galaxy Note 9 will be launched a "reasonable price", Samsung confirmed on Tuesday while announcing its second-quarter earnings. While the South Korean giant didn't reveal the exact price, a recent report claimed that the 128GB storage variant of this year's Galaxy Note model will debut at IDR 13,500,000 (roughly Rs. 64,400). To recall, the Galaxy Note 8 was launched in India last year in 64GB storage option with a price of Rs. 67,900. Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9. This is earlier than the previous Galaxy Note offering that was unveiled in the later part of August. The company believes that the earlier launch will help expand its sales.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to come with an upgraded display and an improved S Pen that is rumoured to support Bluetooth connectivity. A recent Geekbench listing highlighted that the handset will be powered by an Exynos 9820 SoC, though it was initially speculated to have the same Exynos 9810 SoC that debuted on the Galaxy S9 family earlier this year and its US version is likely to have the Snapdragon 845 SoC. It is also rumoured that Samsung will offer a 512GB storage option this year to give plenty of space to the Galaxy Note 9 users. Further, the new Galaxy Note model could come in multiple colour options and new colour combination to attract users. It is also expected to have an upgraded dual rear camera setup and a larger battery than what was found on the Galaxy Note 8.
Alongside the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung is so far rumoured to bring the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Tab S4at its Unpacked Galaxy event in New York on August 9.
